The incident occurred in the Khaigam area of the central Kashmir district. The injured Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
On his X account, the Congress chief expressed, "I am deeply pained to learn about the tragic incident in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 4 BSF jawans lost their lives and around 28 were injured when the bus transporting them for election duty fell into a gorge."
Police said it has arrested 45-year old Shabir Ahmad Wani, a carpenter, belonging to Ompora area in Budgam district for killing and chopping the body of a 30-year old woman belonging to Soibug village of the same district into pieces.
"About 11,000 candidates had initially applied and gone through the physical tests. Out of these, 5,151 male and 438 female shortlisted candidates have appeared for the written test today."
