Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has urged the Madras High Court to vacate its interim order restraining bye-election notifications for five constituencies. He also sought dismissal of a PIL challenging the proposed polls, calling it a “proxy war” against public interest

Excluding sporadic incidents of clashes between the TRS and the BJP, the polling is being held in a peaceful manner.

Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm, except in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Nagaland where the timings are different.
