Tension gripped parts of Narsapur municipality after BRS workers objected to the alleged distribution of cash by Congress leaders soon after polling began. Heated arguments and scuffles involving BJP and BRS workers prompted police intervention to restore order.
Labour Minister Dr G Vivek came under fire on social media after photographs allegedly showing him distributing cash to Congress candidates in Kyathanpalli municipality surfaced. The images, circulated on WhatsApp groups, purportedly showed Vivek canvassing after the campaign deadline.
Ahead of the third phase of gram panchayat elections in Telangana, villagers in Nagarkurnool and Mancherial districts reportedly intercepted Congress leaders attempting to distribute cash and saris. Polling will be held from 7 am to 1 pm, followed by counting at 2 pm.
