Mancherial: Labour Minister Dr G Vivek drew criticism on social media over the alleged distribution of money to Congress candidates to induce voters.
According to messages and photographs widely circulated on WhatsApp groups, Vivek was seen visiting a Congress candidate in Kyathanpalli municipality carrying bags of cash.
He was reportedly canvassing in the civic body even as political parties were barred from campaigning after 5 pm on Monday. However, the authenticity of the photographs is yet to be verified.
A section of social media users slammed Vivek for allegedly violating polling norms and appealed to voters to teach the minister a lesson for undermining democracy by influencing electors through cash. They urged voters to protect democracy by casting their votes in favour of candidates supported by the BRS and the CPI in Kyathanpalli.
