As per the CEC's observations during a recent site inspection, TGIIC sought Consent for Establishment (CFE) from the Telangana Pollution Control Board for only 122.63 acres out of the total 400-acre land parcel. The committee suspected this was a deliberate attempt to bypass a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The CEC, led by Siddhant Das and including members CP Goyal, Sunil Limaye, and JR Bhatt, arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening and began its field inspection of the 400-acre site near the University of Hyderabad on Thursday. Senior officials joined the committee during the site visit.
The bench, comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice AG Masih warned that the Telangana Chief Secretary would be held personally responsible for any non-compliance.
