The Telangana government has honoured Mohammed Shabbir, leading fireman of Chandrayangutta fire station, with the Telangana Shourya Pathakam for his bravery in rescuing 50 inmates from a house fire at Mailardevpalli on May 18 last year.
Police said the vehicle, which was carrying fodder to a dairy farm in Santoshnagar Colony, came into contact with a high-tension wire, sparking a fire that caused panic in the surrounding residential area.
