Double Olympics medallist PV Sindhu, fresh from her Japan Open triumph, crashed out of the China Open after losing to Olympic champion Chen Yufei in a hard-fought pre-quarterfinal match that went to three games.
PV Sindhu reached her first final in more than two years after China's Chen Yufei retired injured during their Japan Open women's singles semifinal. Sindhu, who led 21-19, 15-10, will face either Akane Yamaguchi or Putri Kusuma Wardani in Sunday's final.
