Concerns have been raised about the exploitation of unemployed youth and financially stressed individuals in India due to the increase in illegal activities facilitated by Chinese loan apps.

The searches were launched on September 14 at multiple premises of the accused in Delhi, Mumbai, Ghaziabad, Lucknow and Gaya.

An investigation between January and February 2021 found more than 1,100 digital loan apps available across play stores.
