According to reliable sources, the PDS mafia is paying protection money to rowdy sheeters every month alongside mamools (bribes) to patrolling teams.

The arrested duo – Rajashekar and Shaik Shareef in nexus with various fair price shop dealers procured PDS rice from beneficiaries for Rs 10 per kg. They further sold the same rice to tiffin vendors and restaurants at Rs 18 per kg. 

A total of 17 mills out of the total 76 mills located in the district were found to be defaulting on delivering the grains
