The WHO has identified three contaminated syrups made in India — including Coldrif, tied to child deaths in Madhya Pradesh — and warned they could cause life-threatening illnesses. The flagged products include syrups from Sresan, Rednex and Shape Pharma.
Following child deaths in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan allegedly linked to contaminated Coldrif cough syrup, CDSCO has launched inspections across six States. Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh have banned the syrup, while authorities investigate manufacturing lapses and advise caution for paediatric use
