The Yamuna river in Delhi rose to 205.75 metres at the Old Railway Bridge on Tuesday, surpassing the danger mark. Authorities warned residents in flood-prone areas, as the river is expected to reach the evacuation mark of 206 metres later in the day.
The man accused of attacking Delhi CM Rekha Gupta during a ‘Jan Sunwai’ programme has been sent to five days’ police custody. He faces charges including attempted murder and obstructing a public servant. Gupta underwent a medico-legal examination.
As per eyewitnesses, a mishap was averted as the driver applied the brakes on time and the convoy halted at the flyover. Chief Minister Gupta also came out on the road to monitor the situation
