The Telangana Eagle Force, in coordination with the Delhi Police Crime Branch, NCB, and Noida Police, executed one of India’s largest multi-state crackdowns on an international drug cartel. After 15 days of surveillance and joint reconnaissance, 124 officers were deployed across 20 Delhi locations, with simultaneous raids in Noida, Gwalior, and Visakhapatnam.
Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested the accused behind the theft of a diamond-studded gold Kalash worth over Rs 1 crore from a Jain religious event at Red Fort. The suspect, disguised as a monk, was caught on CCTV before his arrest.
The trafficker, according to Delhi Police, was convicted in a rape case and had been absconding after obtaining parole in 2014 Further details are awaited.
