Lyricist Javed Akhtar expressed shock and disappointment over the warm reception given to Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi at Darul Uloom Deoband, calling it “shameful” and questioning India’s moral direction in extending respect to a representative of the Taliban.
