The Centre has introduced E85 fuel for compatible flex-fuel vehicles and is consulting the automobile industry on expanding ethanol-based fuels. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said India achieved its 20 per cent ethanol blending target ahead of schedule and continues pursuing energy self-reliance.
