Swamy, who was arrested last year under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case, died at a Mumbai hospital on Monday.

"His (Rao's) medical reports, his present health condition is stable, and the state's statement takes care of all the prayers made in these pleas," said Additional Solicitor General
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday directed the authorities to shift the 80-year-old poet from jail to Nanavati Hospital for 15 days, noting that Rao was almost on his deathbed.
