L V Prasad Eye Institute organised the eighth edition of Whitathon in Hyderabad to spread awareness about retinoblastoma in children and raise funds for treatment. Around 2,000 participants joined the marathon event supporting free care and future eye cancer research initiatives.
Retinoblastoma, a fast-growing eye cancer in children, often faces treatment delays of up to 5 months. This delay reduces survival chances. Raising awareness, improving healthcare access, and tackling social barriers are key to saving lives, especially in poorer countries
The winners in the 10K Whitathon run include Yankey Dukpa (women), Anand (Men) and in 5K event, Pinki Kumari and Mod Younus in women and men’s category respectively.
