Tens of thousands of farmers broke barriers to storm the national capital on Tuesday, their tractor parade to highlight their demands .

The actress took to Twitter to denounce the farmers, whom she labelled as "terrorists", and slammed people, including actors, for supporting them and actions, which she says led to widespread violence. 

The farmers swarmed the Red Fort and waved farmer union flags from its ramparts. They even hoisted farmer union flags as well as a pennant with a Sikh religious symbol from a flagpole.

Samkyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of protesting unions, has called a meeting later on Wednesday to discuss the violence that broke out during the farmers' tractor parade.

The rally near Manesar women's polytechnic college on NH-48 saw farmers from Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala carrying the Tricolour

Hospital's Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ritu Saxena, told IANS that eight policemen and 12 farmers are currently receiving treatment and a few of them have sustained serious injuries

Farmers' body condemned and regretted the "undesirable" and "unacceptable" events as the parade turned violent after several groups of farmers deviated from the pre-decided route

According to a Department of Telecom spokesperson, internet shutdown order has been invoked by the local law and order administration and not by the department.

Deviating from the designated route for the tractor parade, protesting farmers entered the Red Fort and hoisted flags from some domes of the iconic monument in the national capital.

The Delhi Police appealed to the protesting farmers to not take law in their hands and maintain peace.

The police also asked the farmers to head back to their pre-decided routes for the tractor parade.

Police used tear gas on groups of farmers and resorted to baton charge as protestors broke past barricades at different border points.

Groups of protesting farmers camping at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur border points of the national capital broke police barricades on Tuesday morning to force their way into the city.

The protesting unions has also announced a foot march to Parliament on February 1, when the annual Budget is presented.

"Justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity are perennial principles of our philosophy of life. They come to us from the dawn of this civilisation through an unbroken chain," the President said.

According to Kashmir Singh, assistant secretary, All India Kisan Sabha (Punjab), the government has provided the farmers three routes, which the tractors will follow during their "completely peaceful parade".

The agitation is part of the all-India 3-day action launched since Sunday in all states to express solidarity with the farmers in Delhi demanding a complete repeal of the 3 farm laws.

Police has said that the barricades would be lifted at Singhu, Tikri and Gazipur borders on January 26 after the Republic Day parade is over

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha, a pro-farmer body, has given a nationwide call for a struggle from January 23 to 26, including rallies to Raj Bhavans (governor houses) in states.
