Polling began Thursday morning for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections across 18 districts covering 121 constituencies. Over 3.75 crore voters are eligible to vote as security forces ensure peaceful polling in Naxal-affected and sensitive areas.

While 2,06,044 students registered for admissions in the first phase, 1,81,638 gave web options and 1,67,130 candidates were allotted seats

The polls were held in 71 constituencies spread across 16 districts amid tight security and strict COVID-19 regulations in place

The first phase of vaccination will be carried out on the groups of people with highest risk of COVID-19 infections.
