DOST: Over 1.67 lakh degree seats allotted in first phase
While 2,06,044 students registered for admissions in the first phase, 1,81,638 gave web options and 1,67,130 candidates were allotted seats

Hyderabad: A total of 1,67,130 candidates have been allotted degree seats in the first phase of Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST) 2021 admissions.
While 2,06,044 students registered for admissions in the first phase, 1,81,638 gave web options and 1,67,130 candidates were allotted seats including 78,021 for men and 89,109 for women.
The first phase degree seats allotment through the DOST were released by Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) chairman Prof. T Papi Reddy, Commissioner of Collegiate Education Navin Mittal, TSCHE vice-chairman-I and DOST convener Prof. R Limbadri, TSCHE vice chairman-II Prof. V Venkata Ramana, and TSCHE secretary Dr. N Srinivasa Rao here on Wednesday.
As many as 14,508 candidates were not allotted seats as they exercised limited web options. While there were 950 colleges on the DOST, 27 degree colleges recorded zero allotments in the first phase.
Faculty wise, of the total allotted seats 39.43 per cent were in Commerce, 21.38 per cent in Physical Science, 19.75 per cent in Life Science, 13.52 per cent in Arts, 3.71 per cent in others, 1.96 per cent in Data Science and 0.25 per cent in D Pharmacy programme.
Candidates who received the seat allotment were instructed to reserve the same through self-reporting online by paying Rs.500 or Rs.1,000 as the case may be in the DOST candidate login. If candidates fail to reserve their allotted seat through self-reporting online, they would forego the seat and their DOST registration would be cancelled automatically, Prof. Limbadri said.
Candidates looking for a better choice of seat can exercise web options in the next phase of admissions by sliding but after self-reporting online, he added.
