Investors of Franklin’s shut schemes to get Rs 2,962 crore

This would be the second tranche of disbursement to the investors after the distribution of Rs 9,122 crore across five schemes in February.

In a letter to investors Franklin Templeton Asset Management (India) Pvt Ltd President Sanjay Sapre said, "we have no plans to exit our India business"

The court had said the distribution of funds need to be undertaken by the SBI Mutual Fund and completed within 20 days.

According to the fund house during January 1-15, these schemes received Rs 669 crore, of which Rs 617 crore was as pre-payments.

Individually, Franklin India Ultra Short Bond Fund, Franklin India Low Duration Fund, Franklin India Dynamic Accrual Fund and Franklin India Credit Risk Fund have 49 per cent, 48 per cent, 34 per cent and 16 per cent of their respective AUM in cash.
