Hyderabad-based Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Relief Foundation Trust has completed 18 lakh dialysis sessions since 2009, enabling poor patients to save Rs 136 crore through affordable treatment. The Trust now operates 228 machines and conducts around 600 dialysis sessions daily.
The initiative not only has provided a better and safer alternative to poor patients with chronic kidney ailments but also has successfully leveraged medical technology as a solution for a major public health issue of kidney ailments.
