Hyderabad’s idol makers are shifting from Plaster of Paris to eco-friendly clay Ganeshas. While Dhoolpet artisans still use PoP for large idols, demand for clay idols is surging—especially from NRIs and civic bodies. Prices have risen amid higher material costs.
People, who worshiped the lord Ganesha with pomp and splendor for the nine days, gave a grand farewell to him by immersing idols in different water bodies.
The delicious treat is claimed to have originated in Maharashtra and is said to be offered to the Hindu deity, Ganesha, during the Ganesh Chaturthi Festival.
