Orders placed by the Military Affairs Department through Government e-Marketplace have crossed Rs 1.35 lakh crore, accounting for nearly 15 per cent of GeM procurement, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said. He added that purchases through the portal exceeded Rs 20 lakh crore over 10 years

The Prime Minister also said that the GeM platform was especially empowering MSMEs, with 57 per cent of order value coming from the MSME sector.

The new process launched in July offers online system of registration for MSMEs

“We expect the exports to witness a decline of 20 25 per cent in 2020-21, compared with last year. With demand improving gradually, we should be at our 2019-20 levels next year. Growth will come back only maybe by 2021-22,”
