A multi-decadal study has found rising heat-humidity stress and prolonged dry spells across Telangana and other parts of South Peninsular India. Hyderabad and Warangal are witnessing increasing urban heat and humidity, while farming districts face longer gaps between spells of rain.
Multiple districts in Telangana, including Hyderabad, are expected to witness a surge in daytime temperatures with the mercury likely to touch 40 degrees Celsius in the coming days. IMD officials say it is not yet a heatwave, but authorities have issued precautions.
