Telangana has slipped into the deficient rainfall category, recording a 23 per cent deficit between June 1 and September 9. The IMD has forecast thunderstorms and isolated heavy rainfall over the State, but below-normal rainfall is likely to continue until September 16.
Hyderabad's seasonal rainfall deficit has widened to 40 per cent as dry weather pushes up temperatures across the city and neighbouring districts. While Medchal-Malkajgiri recorded a 59 per cent deficit, the IMD has forecast light to moderate rain across Telangana over the coming days.
