The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Hyderabad Branch Office, conducted a search-and-seizure operation on Monday at a manufacturing unit located in TSIIC Pashamylaram
Director, BIS Hyderabad, PV Srikanth said the raids were conducted based on information received about a large quantity of sanitary napkins being stored at this center without any certification.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry had made BIS Certification (ISI Mark) for toys mandatory with effect from January 1, 2021, and designated the BIS as the enforcing authority.
