The Telangana High Court pulled up CCLA Lokesh Kumar for seeking exemption from personal appearance in a contempt case, citing a ministerial tour. The Court warned of warrants against officials seeking such exemptions and concluded proceedings after the refund was credited.
While issuing notice in the contempt proceedings, Justice Bhaskar Reddy directed the Ranga Reddy District Collector to conduct an immediate enquiry and file a factual report on the alleged construction activity within two weeks.
The Judge was dealing with a Writ Petition filed by K. Ramesh and others challenging the action of the State government in allotting about 48 acres of petitioners' land to a goshala.
