Kasthuri’s arrest came after the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court denied her anticipatory bail in a case involving alleged derogatory remarks against the Telugu community. A special police team detained her in Egmore on Saturday night and transported her by road from Hyderabad to Chennai.
According to available information, Kasthuri was reportedly arrested in Gachibowli by a special team from the Tamil Nadu police and is being escorted back to Chennai. However, local police stated they were not notified about the arrest by their counterparts.
