In a medical milestone for Telangana, paediatric surgeons at Gandhi Hospital successfully performed a laparoscopic splenectomy on a 7-year-old boy suffering from hereditary spherocytosis. The child, admitted with severe anaemia and an enlarged spleen, required frequent blood transfusions.
