The Forest Department is set to launch safari tours at Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary in Kothagudem district. Three safari vehicles have been procured and dedicated tracks developed to help visitors explore the sanctuary's wildlife, flora and scenic landscapes more effectively.
Five cowherds stranded in the Munneru stream in Khammam’s Chintakani mandal were rescued by NDRF teams on Thursday. Heavy rains across the region caused a sharp rise in stream and river levels, prompting alerts in Khammam and surrounding areas.
Seven cowherds took cattle for grazing and got trapped in an island between Murredu stream and Kinnerasani stream as water level increased with the release of excess water from Kinnerasani dam.
