A 23-year-old woman from Sangareddy district allegedly died by suicide after entering into a live-in relationship, leading to protests by her family. Vaditya Kaveri and Sabhavath Srikanth had moved to Hyderabad after their families refused their marriage proposal. Following her death, Kaveri’s parents and relatives staged a protest at Srikanth’s residence, accusing him of responsibility.
Nirmal: Ashwini, 30, a divorced woman, was allegedly stabbed to death by her live-in partner Nagesh at their Bhainsa tea stall. He reportedly confessed, citing suspicion over her interactions with another person. Police are investigating the incident.
“The Islamic tenets do not permit live-in relationships during the subsisting marriage. The position may be different if the two persons are unmarried and the parties being adults choose to lead their lives in a way of their own,” said the bench on Wednesday.
