Sangareddy: A young woman ended her life a few months after entering into a live-in relationship, triggering protests by her parents and relatives who held the man responsible for her death.
According to Narayankhed police, Vaditya Kaveri (23), a resident of Kadpal Vital Nayak Thanda in Sirgapur mandal, and Sabhavath Srikanth (24) of Munigepally Manik Nayak Thanda were in a relationship. When they approached their parents seeking marriage, the families refused, citing various reasons.
Following the refusal, the couple left their homes and began living together in Hyderabad. However, Kaveri allegedly died by suicide on Saturday following differences between the two.
After registering a case at the Balapur police station, Kaveri’s parents and relatives brought her body to Srikanth’s residence at Manik Nayak Thanda and staged a protest, accusing him of being responsible for their daughter’s death.
The police intervened and counselled the agitating family members. They were later convinced to perform the funeral at Srikanth’s residence, police said.
