BHEL SC Employees Association President G Surendar has been appointed as the Telangana State President of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas Paswan)’s labour cell, Janshakti Mazdoor Sabha. He received the appointment letter from the party’s New Delhi office on Saturday.

Acknowledging India's lagging performance in food processing, Paswan vowed to make concerted efforts to elevate the sector to new heights.

He also extended his wishes to PM Modi and said that his party firmly supports the NDA government.

Paswan's death has led to factional fight within his party with both his son Chirag Paswan and his brother Pashupati Kumar Paras claiming to be representing the LJP.

The unique agitation came after Chirag Paswan's recent remarks that such "web series create division in the society".

Over 2.35 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in this phase including nearly 1.23 crore male and 1.12 crore female voters.

Of the 2.14 crore voters who will exercise their franchise, 1.01 crore are women and 599 belong to the third gender, according to data provided by the Election Commission.
