Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has appealed to the Islamabad High Court for release on humanitarian grounds, citing deteriorating eyesight and prolonged solitary confinement. His counsel argued that Khan has lost 85% of his vision and that prison conditions are worsening his health.
For the past decade and a half, eye doctors have been treating these conditions with drugs that block a protein, VEGF, that's responsible for spurring new vessel growth.
