The BRS has stepped up its campaign against the alleged diversion of Tungabhadra River waters by Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, with senior leaders inspecting the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme in Karnataka. The party warned of launching a massive agitation to protect Telangana’s water rights, accusing the Congress government of indifference and granting clearances to upstream projects that threaten irrigation in Mahabubnagar district.
Former Minister V Srinivas Goud criticised the Congress government for failing to utilise floodwaters in Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda. He highlighted poor water management, incomplete irrigation projects, and warned of worsening conditions for farmers if immediate action is not taken
