McConaughey opened up on the subject while speaking to actress Drew Barrymore on her popular chat show. He was a guest on "The Drew Barrymore Show" post the recent success of "Greenlights".
Earlier in November, McConaughey had also discussed running for office in his home state of Texas and hinted at a future in politics if the demand was there.
In 2009, McConaughey and his wife, Camila, founded the just keep livin Foundation, which helps at-risk high school students make healthier mind, body, and spirit choices.
McConaughey made a name for himself in Hollywood through romantic films such as "The Wedding Planner", "Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past" and "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days".
The outlet also reported that the 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past' actor was also once spotted in the virtual audience of the WWE Thunderdome that took place in October 2020.
