McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in a bout against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. While he was slated to face Michael Chandler since early 2023, their fight, initially set for June 29 at UFC 303, was canceled after McGregor withdrew due to a toe injury
The fight was intense and action-packed for as long as it lasted, but the third matchup between the two superstars absolutely didn't live up to the hype.
This was the second clash between the two as McGregor and Poirier had fought before back in 2014. At that time, McGregor had won the featherweight fight by first-round TKO at UFC 178.
I would love to. I loved it (directing) so much. It was the most beautiful experience and creative experience. In terms of my dreams of directing, it was absolutely satisfying as I hoped it would be.
