A two-member technical team set up by the Ministry of Coal has reportedly found irregularities in the Naini Coal Block tenders of Singareni and is expected to recommend a CBI probe. The team highlighted violations of regulations, mandatory site visit clauses that restricted bidders, and extravagant CSR spending.

"The Ministry of Coal had published the proposed draft legislation on Coal Trade Exchange for public consultation... Ministry of Coal has decided to extend the last date for submission of comments/suggestions from April 6, 2025, till May 7, 2025," the coal ministry said

Coal Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, speaking to Telangana Today, said CIL and NLC India Limited (NLC) (formerly Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited), were conducting feasibility studies on pump storage projects.
