The Centre has notified 40 questions for the population enumeration phase of Census 2027, including caste, SC and ST status, Aadhaar and voter ID details. Enumeration will begin on September 1 in snow-bound areas, while self-enumeration starts August 17.
The Census Commissioner assured that individual data collected during the upcoming Census will remain confidential and cannot be used for legal or scheme-related purposes. Self-enumeration and digital data collection will be introduced, with several datasets expected to be released by 2027
