A 20-year-old youth of Mogarallaguppa village, drowned while fishing in the Mukamamidi irrigation project at Mulakalapally mandal. A case was registered based on a complaint from the victim's father.

According to irrigation officials the project needed Rs 21 crore for taking up repair works alone.
