Kothagudem: Youth drowns while fishing in Mukamamidi irrigation project
A 20-year-old youth of Mogarallaguppa village, drowned while fishing in the Mukamamidi irrigation project at Mulakalapally mandal. A case was registered based on a complaint from the victim's father.

Kothagudem: A youth who went fishing accidentally drowned and went missing in Mukamamidi irrigation project in Mulakalapally mandal on Thursday.
The 20-year-old youth Tanam Rajesh, a resident of Mogarallaguppa village in the mandal, went fishing with his friend Gaddam Sathish during evening hours. While they were waiting after casting their lines, a large fish got caught on Rajesh’s hook.
As the fish strongly pulled the line inwards, Rajesh entered the waters to catch it. However, as the water was deep and due to Rajesh’s inability to swim, he drowned. Although his friend Sathish, who was on the shore, tried to save him, he too did not know how to swim and was helpless.
Upon receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot. Search operations were launched with the help of local swimmers. The search was hampered by the onset of darkness. The police registered a case based on the complaint filed by victim’s father, Rambabu.
