Prominent businessman Dilshat Ali, along with 200 supporters, joined the BRS after quitting the Congress at Kyathanpalli in Mancherial district. He credited Balka Suman for development works in the Chennur Assembly constituency.
Congress faced a setback in Mancherial as former Zilla Parishad vice-chairperson Mula Rajireddy resigned from the party and announced plans to join the BRS. Rajireddy, who played a key role in Labour Minister Dr G Vivek’s victory from Chennur, was reportedly sidelined after the polls, leading to his discontent.
