Mancherial: In a major blow to the Congress ahead of municipal polls, an influential leader and former Zilla Parishad vice-chairperson Mula Rajireddy from Chennur Assembly constituency resigned from the party and is set to join the BRS soon.
It was Mula Rajireddy who played a vital role in Labour minister Dr G Vivek contesting from Chennur segment and his victory in Assembly polls. He was reportedly irked with Vivek for sidelining him after assuming power. He was unhappy with the minister for giving importance to newly joined leaders and not giving recognition to his contributions.
However, political analysts observed that the unexpected exit of Rajireddy ahead of civic polls was likely to leave an adverse impact on the prospects of the party. They opined that internal bickering and Vivek’s dominating attitude might have forced Rajireddy to quit the party.
