Nadal lost to world No.1 Novak Djokovic in the French Open semi-finals recently.

It was Nadal's third loss in 108 matches at a tournament he won each of the last four years, including by beating Djokovic in the 2020 final.

The victory also earned Nadal a 36th ATP Masters 1000 crown, equalling Djokovic’s record since the series was established in 1990.

Nadal, aiming for a record-extending 10th Rome title, will next face big-serving American Reilly Opelka.

Serb world no. 1 Djokovic, entered quarterfinals for the 15th time in his 15th appearance in the tournament.

"Under these circumstances, I don't know. Let's see what's going on in the next couple of months. But I need to organize my schedule," the 34-year-old Spaniard continued.
