Fourteen students, two teachers and an auto driver were injured after a lorry hit a passenger auto in Ramayampet town of Medak district. Five students are stated to be in serious condition and have been shifted to hospitals in Hyderabad and Siddipet.
Forest officials in Medak have placed villages near the Kamareddy border on alert following renewed movement of a tiger in the neighbouring district. Awareness programmes were conducted, and farmers were advised to take precautions until the animal retreats into the forest
