Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said the state government will decide on declaring taluks beset by deficit rainfall as drought-affected areas on September 4.
In response to the extensive devastation caused by heavy rains and floods in the State, he urged the Centre to allocate Rs. 5,000 crore from the NDRF to Telangana.
According to an official statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday, the HLC has approved additional central assistance of Rs 3,113.05 crores to five states and union territories from the National Disaster Risk Management Fund
