The Rajya Sabha passed the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026, paving the way for a National Tribunal Commission to oversee appointments to tribunals. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said the move would make appointments transparent, independent and merit-based without changing tribunal jurisdiction.
