Over 30 Indian-origin professionals were honoured in the UK’s 2025 New Year Honours. Awards ranged from CBEs, OBEs, and MBEs to BEMs, recognising achievements in literature, enterprise, community service, health, education, sports, and philanthropy.
Former Minister Alok Sharma, 55, has been honoured with the Order of St Michael and St George for his contribution to combating climate change through his role as the President of 26th UN Climate Change Conference.
The list recognises outstanding achievements in various fields including showbusiness, sport and politics, as well as the contributions of a larger number of everyday citizens.
