A Singapore court sentenced Indian-origin man Kavind Raj Kannan to over two years in jail and caning for his role in a fatal 2023 riot at Concorde Hotel. Another gang member faces murder charges while others have received jail terms.
Five individuals, including the father of the victim’s ex-wife, have been arrested in connection with the case. The crime was motivated by strained relations between the two NRI families. The injured NRI is reported to be out of danger.
