Hyderabad: The Film Nagar police booked a case against a Non-Resident Indian for allegedly harassing a woman from the city.

The 35-year-old woman from the old city became friend with the suspect Mohd Abdul Ahmed from Saudi Arabia on social media and they exchanged their mobile numbers and continued their communication through WhatsApp.

As per available information, eventually, Abdul Ahmed proposed to marry the complainant and the latter agreed. The couple reportedly got married through a video call, while the suspect was abroad and the complainant was in Hyderabad.

Subsequently, when the woman learnt about Abdul Ahmed already being married thrice, he started harassing her. He threatened to share her private pictures and videos on social media if she revealed about his wrongdoings to anyone.

The victim in her complaint further alleged that Abdul Ahmed was harassing her along with his third wife.

Based on her complaint, the Film Nagar police are investigating.
